Countryside Class is a community organization inside Battambang Province, Cambodia, dedicated to developing Cambodia's future through educating and inspiring today's children. Our mission is to teach positive attitudes and values to children through teaching, reading, and community bonds, so that all Cambodian children will be educated and have good character and be able to lead their country and people forward to development.

Sambon Meas

Sambon is a student of Marketing at University of Management and Economics (UME) in Battambang Province. Every day he teaches the children and teenagers at Countryside Class. When there is a major holiday, he organizes a Khmer song and dance show which also educates the community about drug abuse and domestic violence. This program is important to give the students the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities and set a positive example for other youth in the community. He teaches at Countryside Class to develop the community and give the youth in the area a greater chance for an improved life through knowing English.


Sambath Meas


Sambath is a 4th year student of Economics at the University of Management and Economics of Battambang (UME). He studies on the weekends, so that during the weekdays he can work as a tuk tuk driver and guide to support the family. He founded the school as a way to teach the new generation of Cambodia to have open minds for their futures.







Toek Bunna Vatey

21-year-old Vatey is from Songkor District in Battambang Province. She is currently studying both at University of Battambang as well as Preah Sihanouk Raja Buddhist University. She chose to join Countryside Class's staff to be able to play a part in her community's development, and she really loves the children who study at Countryside Class.



Tieng Sokkanha ('Pheakdey')

Pheakdey, 22 years old, lives in the same community as Countryside Class, Kampongseyma Village in Battambang Province. She is currently studying Accounting and Finance at University of Management and Economics. She has always had an interest in working with other people in social activities and believes in working hard and studying diligently.
